A Zimbabwean, Vimbai Chapungu, has been crowned Miss London 2019, making her the first black person to hold the title and also a finalist for this year’s Miss England beauty pageant Chapungu wore her natural hair during the pageant and she emerged in the top three of the 55 contestants for the bare-faced model title.
Chapungu is a classically trained singer, a student and part-time model.
She is studying for a Masters’ degree in Geography at a London university.
Chapungu, 24, recently took part in the Miss England Final held in Newcastle where the contestants participated in Sports Round and Talent Round to an eco-wear Round and even a general knowledge quiz.
She qualified as one of the 50 finalists out of other 20,000 women that entered this year’s competition.
