It is a fact that WhatsApp is always slow on modern updates. They still have dark mode in the workplace and material UI revamp seems to be a next-decade plan for them, but the WhatsApp Beta update rolled out very recently has some noticeable features.

The Feature of fingerprint lock which has been available to iOS users for months is now in test for WhatsApp for Android. This Feature is only available to those who are registered on the Beta programme.

To activate the Feature, head to the Privacy page of your WhatsApp settings and you can see the fingerprint lock option which can be customised.

An added feature is the WhatsApp from Facebook seen on the bottom of the settings page.

This is an overdue overhyped change as we look forward to seeing more better updates on WhatsApp most notably a material UI design and a dark mode availability.
